This policy covers the Idle Hands Tattoo & Piercing studio website and its jewelry question helper. Our online jewelry store has its own jewelry shop privacy policy.
Information you provide
When you submit a jewelry inquiry, we collect your name, reply email, question, submission time, the page it came from, and your consent to contact the studio. We use this information to review and respond to your request. Please do not include payment details, passwords, identity documents, or sensitive medical information.
Jewelry helper & AI processing
The optional jewelry helper sends your question and the current conversation to Lovable AI and its processing providers to generate an answer. Ordinary chat history is held only in the active page session and is not saved to our inquiry records or browser storage. This does not mean processing providers keep no records: technical logs and provider retention may apply under their own terms. AI answers may be incomplete or incorrect; the studio can confirm information before you act on it.
Saved inquiries & studio replies
Choosing Submit inquiry saves the information you enter privately for Idle Hands. We use your reply email to respond and intend to forward your inquiry to the studio's administrative inbox when automatic email sending is active. If forwarding is unavailable, the form tells you and offers direct email instead. We do not automatically send every chat message to the studio. A saved inquiry is separate from unsaved chat history.
Measurement & advertising cookies
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to measure how the website is used, and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure jewelry questions and improve our ads. These services may receive the pages you visit, the address that referred you, your device and browser details, and their own cookies, such as Meta's _fbp. In regions that require a notice, a banner asks your permission before these services load, and your answer is stored in this browser along with the wording you were shown and the time you answered; elsewhere they run without a banner. Ad clicks and impressions on Google and Meta are counted by those platforms either way. Changing your answer in Cookie settings stops these tags from loading on this site going forward; it does not remove records those platforms already hold, which are covered by their own privacy notices.
Technical information & cookies
Our hosting and service providers may process device, browser, network, IP address, request, and security information needed to operate and protect this website. External booking, shopping, and social services may use their own cookies and similar technologies. Your browser settings can control cookies, although restricting them may affect those services.
Shopping, booking & external services
Jewelry purchases take place on our separate Shopify-powered store at idlehandsjewelry.co, not through this site's question helper. Booking and consultation links open HoneyBook forms. Those services handle the information you give them under their own privacy notices. Our shop's policy describes checkout, account, shipping, marketing, and Shopify data handling; those shop-specific practices should not be assumed to apply to this website's helper.
How information is used & shared
We use inquiry information to provide customer support, communicate with you, maintain appropriate business records, and meet legal obligations. We share it with studio staff and providers supporting website hosting, AI processing, storage, and email delivery as needed for those purposes, or when required by law. Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing messages.
Security, retention & transfers
We use access restrictions and reasonable safeguards, but no online system or email transmission is completely secure. Inquiry records and related correspondence may be retained as needed to respond, manage ongoing requests, comply with legal requirements, and resolve disputes. Processing providers may operate outside your state or country. Contact us to request deletion; some records may need to be retained where law permits or requires it.
Your choices & rights
You can browse without using the helper or submitting an inquiry. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information, or withdraw consent for future processing where consent applies. Email the studio to make a request or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity and will respond as required by applicable law. Requests about shop-specific advertising and Shopify processing can also be made through the shop's privacy policy.
Children's privacy
The jewelry inquiry helper is not intended for children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact the studio on a child's behalf. If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate permission, contact us to request its removal. Studio piercing-age and guardian requirements are separate from this website privacy notice.
